• No shouting or whistling is allowed in the school premises.
• It is necessary that pupils must obey the monitor appointed by the class teacher to maintain discipline during his/her absence from the class.
• Non-Sikh boys should have their hair trimmed at regular intervals.
• You have to be punctual and regular in the school and join the morning assembly, as the bell starts ringing, in a disciplined manner. By the time the bell stops, ensure that you are in position at the allotted place.
• Observe order and decorum befitting the occasion.
• You must not bring any sharp instrument to the school.
• You must not lend or borrow money or other articles from your fellow student.
• The school will not be responsible for loss of books, money and other valuables brought by you to the school. However, every effort will be made to recover the things lost, if reported to the Class Teacher or the Principal immediately.
• You are expected to be polite, courteous, respectful and well disciplined inside and outside the school.
• You must take care of your school property. No student should scratch or spoil any school furniture or write or draw lines on the walls or in any other manner damage things belonging to others. Damage done even by accident, either by you or by any one else, should be reported at once to the Class Teacher or to the Principal. Any damage done will have to be made good either individually or collectively.
• It is compulsory for all children to converse in English as the ICSE syllabus stresses on student competence to speak confidently and fluently in English. A student must speak in decent language all the time. He must ensure that his speech is courteous and polite. No student should participate in any kind of rumor spreading and should refrain from speaking ill about others.
• Buying eatables from street vendors is strictly forbidden outside the school premises.
• Any communication sent from the school should be conveyed to the parents promptly. Parents must meet the teachers by prior appointments and with the permission of the Principal only.
• The general behavior of students should be good not only in the school but also outside. Any reported objectionable conduct outside the school will make the students liable for disciplinary action.
• Before leaving the class room at the end of the day student should arrange the desk and chairs in. proper order, switch off the lights and fans, close the window, throw the waste paper and unwanted materials in the dustbin and then leave the classroom.
• Students are not followed to receive private tuitions from the teachers of the school.
• No child who is suffering from any infectious disease will be allowed to attend the school until he/she is free from the infection.
• The name, class and section of the pupil should be clearly marked on all his/her belongings.
• No article will be passed on to the students either in the form of food or stationery during school hours.
• Students are not allowed to drive any vehicle to come to school 24. Do not send expensive gifts and sweets on birthdays or any other festivals.
• Students are not allowed to wear any kind of ornaments in school, except a small earning for girls.
• The Principal has full authority to refuse admission to a child and give transfer certificate to existing students on disciplinary charges.
• Students are not given half-day leave without any specific reason.
• Every student should take care of his/her personal belongings School authorities will not be responsible for loss of such belongings.
• A student must extend due courtesy and respect to all members of staff. Respect for elders and affection for juniors should be soundly inculcated. Refinement in behavior should distinguish every pupil of the school. Every child is expected to uphold the name and honour of the school.

• No student will be allowed to enter the class without the school diary. The diary is mandatory and it is applicable for all classes.
• Changing classrooms between periods should be done silently in an orderly manner.
• Parents should ensure that their wards are clean and neatly dressed. Students who are slovenly in their dress or not in proper full uniform will be sent home. (note - trousers worn on the hips will not be accepted as it is not part of the school uniform. Trousers must be tied at the waist.)
• No books (other than text books, note books and library books) magazines or papers, novels etc. should be brought to the school as it is a serious offence.
• Carrying mobile phones, slam-books or any undesirable article to school is strictly prohibited. If caught the item will be confiscated and will not be returned.
• The school reserves the right to suspend students whose progress in studies is unsatisfactory on account of lack of adequate attention at home or whose conduct is detrimental and harmful to other students.
• A child who fails twice in the same class will not be allowed to continue his/her studies in the school and will receive a failed transfer certificate.
• A student who uses unfair means during tests/examinations will be marked zero and given a warning letter. Repetition of the same may result in rustication from the school.
• Insubordination by students towards members of the staff is strictly for bidden and the said student may be asked to leave the school. If the situation is serious the student will be rusticated.
• Repeated absence without leave or unexplained absence for more than three consecutive days will render the student liable to have his/her name struck off the rolls: Re-admission may be granted only on payment of fresh admission fee, provided the vacancy still exists.
• All students are required to attend school on the opening day after every vacation. Those absent because of illness must present a M.C. before they are allowed to join the class.
• It is compulsory for students to complete 75% attendance in the academic year to make them eligible to sit for the final examination or board examination.
• A child suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, should produce a fitness certificate from a doctor before joining classes.
• If a child has to be withdrawn from the school, parents/guardians are requested to give one calendar's month notice, in writing to the school office, failing which one month fee will be charged.
• Students are responsible to the school authorities not only for their conduct in the school but also for their general behavior outside. Any report of objectionable conduct on the part of any student will make him/her liable to disciplinary action as given in rule no. 18.
• Students should have all the required text books and stationery at the beginning of the school year and these must be brought regularly to school according to their time table. All books and exercise books should be covered and have the name, class, section of the student clearly marked on them.

• Parents and guardians are not permitted to interrupt classes in order to meet teachers during school hours. Appointments must be made in advance through the Principal's office.
• Instructions regarding payment of school fees are clearly stated in the bill book which is issued to each student at the beginning of the new school year in April. It is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to see that the fees are deposited on time as per rules printed, failing which a fine will be imposed.
• Destroying of school property will be considered as gross misconduct. Any such defaulters will be liable for sever disciplinary action-such as replacing the item, a heavy fine and suspension from the school.
• Students are expected to bring their own Tiffin to school along with their water bottles and not more then Rs. 50/- for exigencies.

• All Pupils should attend classes from the opening day, after each vaccation.
• Absence without leave application and non-payment of fees as per rules prescribed will lead to removal of the pupil's name from the school rolls.
• The Principal can, in the interest of the school and/or the pupil concerned, insists on the withdrawal of and/or expel a pupil for the following reasons :
  1. where a pupil fails to come upto or maintain the academic standardrequired by th school.
  2. where in the opinion of the Principal a pupil has failed to accept and maintain the discipline of the school and/or his continued presence is detrimental to the moral tone of the school.
  3. where a pupil is suffering from a disease likely to affect the health of others.
• Any change in address or telephone number of parent must be intimated immediately to avoid inconvenience.
• Strict regularity and punctuality, implicit obedience, maintaining school timing, courtesy in words and deeds, cleanliness of dress and person and proper care of books and school property is expected from every pupil.
• Fines may be imposed by the Principal for breaches against regularity, discipline rules and loss or damage to school property.
• The wearing of the school uniform is obligatory. Wearing of jewellery and bringing expensive articles or money to school is strictly prohibited and the school will not be responsible for their loss.
• Pupils are responsible to the school authorities for their conduct not only in the school but also for their behavior outside. Any report of objectionable conduct on the part of any pupil will make him/her liable for disciplinary action.
• Gifts in any form to the members of staff are not allowed.
• Every student when called upon to attend extra classes or take part in other activities of the school must do so. Failure to comply will entail punishment/disciplinary action.
• No student leaves the school premises without the permission of the Principal. Disciplinary action will be taken against those doing so. Also the school will not be responsible for the safety of the offenders in this respect.

• The school solicits the co-operation of parents/guardians in helping it to achieve with perfection the noble goal for which the institution has been established.
• Parents are expected to play their part by ensuring regularity, punctuality and discipline.
• Politeness and courtesy in speech and conduct should be inculcated in the child alongwith a sense of cleanliness of dress and person.
• The conduct of the parent/guardian to the school should be courteous and polite. Any misconduct or bad behavior will render the person concerned ineligible for future appointment or entry into school premises.
• Parents and visitors may see the Principal only after seeking prior appointment through school office.
• Parents should be particular that their wards take all the examination and tests.
• Reports and recommendations from the teachers and the Principal should be signed by the parents. Failures to do so may put the child to great inconvenience.
• School diaries should be checked every day by the parents to have up-to-date information regarding tests and their child's performance in the class.
• Parent’s tutions are totally prohibited. Parents are advised not to approach the school teacher.
• Parents will have to help the child in making up to lessons and exercises missed during their absence.
• Constructive suggestions, if any, should be made by parents in writing to the Principal giving full name, class and section of their wards.
• Parents are requested not to tip the school servants.

• Fees are to be paid in advance for every three months before the end of the first month at HDFC BANK Parade.
• Payment of fees by cheque shall be accepted upto 30th of each month in which the payment falls due, there after payment will be accepted only in cash (with due fines).
• Cheques/Demand Dafts should be drawn in the name of "S.L.M. SKYLARK SCHOOL, Kanpur" payable at local banks only.
• In case a cheque is dishonoured the facility of paying fee by cheque would be withdrawn.
• After the end of the first month a fine of Rs. 5/- per day will be charged per month. If the fee remains unpaid for two consecutive months the name of the student will be struck-off the rolls and readmission procedure will be followed.
• The fact that a bill or memorandum has not been received by the parent or that it has been received late neither exempts the students from paying fines nor prevents the school from striking the name of the student off the rolls, for non¬payment of fee.
• If any student whose name has been struck-off seeks readmission, he will be charged a re-admission fee of Rs. 1000/-, only if re-admission is allowed by the Principal.

Notice of withdrawal of a student from the School must be given by the Parent atleast two months before the commencement of the next term. Failure to give this mandatory notice fees for the next term will be charged.

Conveyance charges (Bus) are payable in cash in the School office. Conveyance charges are payable for the whole year, including holidays four times in a year (in April, July, October and January). In case the conveyance charges are not paid during the said period, a fine will be levied or facility withdrawn.

• There will be periodical assessments of 25 marks for Class Ito V and 20 marks for Class VI to X (in every term) on the basis of daily class work, tests, response in class and oral work. The marks of these assessments would be added to the marks of the Term Examination. In case the student is absent, there will be NO RETEST or Average Marking and the marks will be considered ZERO in the respective test.
• Annual examination covering whole year's work will be held in March/April.
• In deciding the promotion, the yearly average alone is not the determining factor. Students should reach reach a satisfactory standard of at least 40% in all subjects during the Annual Examination.
• A minimum attendance of 75% is must for all students, failing which the child will not be allowed to sit for the Annual Examination. In case of absence, a leave application & medical certificate (for leave more than 3 days) should be submitted. Students absenting themselves from any test or examination will not be ranked.
• Promotion once refused will not be reconsidered and no interviews would be granted in this matter.
• A child should do his/her work regularly otherwise marks from the assessment tests will be deducted.
• A student who fails twice in the same class will have to be withdrawn from the school.
• Progress report signed by the parent/guardian must be returned within the given time or a fine of Re. 1/- per day will be charged. In case the Report Card is lost or torn, a new report card will be made available on payment of Rs. 50/-
